There is a massive market in almost all of Pakistan’s cities to prepare students for MDCAT, ETEA, NET, GAT, and even IELTS!
But there are already a lot of websites out there that let students practice by paying a fee. These websites have question banks where MCQs are pulled out of and provided to paying students so that they can practice for their entrance test exams to universities.
This is not a Pakistan-only problem either, many countries across the world have standardized tests to filter university applications, so this solution can work on an international level once it has been developed.
the problems
I first delved into this idea in the late 2010s, I had registered eteapreparation.com and filled it with some data. Published some articles on it and even managed to get some organic traffic. Where I faced a problem was in implementation of my idea. My skills were not good enough back then to develop a web application as complex as what I envisioned. Causing me to abandon that project.
The website was built on WordPress and I tried using some LMS plugins to build the functionality I needed, I even bought some books that had a collection of MCQs and I talked with some people who were willing to do data-entry tasks on a per question payment basis.
In hindsight, I’m glad that I abandoned this project back then because my vision for what I want it to be is so much more vast now, where I was selling “attempts” or “question sets” in the past, I want to sell knowledge now. Which is far more valuable to an average everyday person living in Pakistan who wants to get into a credible university, as opposed to paying thousands for something that is available at a local corner shop for a few hundred maximum.
So, while I did let eteapreparation.com expire, not much was lost because as it turns out: there are countless more standardized tests out there than just ETEA.
